5. Set the Machine number on all VP-88K units other than Machine 2 to a

unique number between 3 and 16 (see

Section 6.5)

. Figure 22 shows the DIP-

switch setting for Machine 2.

8.3 Controlling the VP-88K via Ethernet

Before trying to control the VP-88K via Ethernet, the unit must first be configured

according to the instructions in

Section 6.4

To control the VP-88K via Ethernet:

1. Connect the Ethernet port on Machine number 1 to the LAN port of your PC

either:

• Via a network switch (as shown in

Figure 23)

• Using a straight-through cable directly using a crossover cable

2. Set the Machine number on the VP-88K to be Machine 1 (see

Section 6.5
